Our promises to families
Your child’s information is the most sensitive data there is. These are our commitments. in plain words and real numbers, each one built into the software itself. The full legal notice lives at /privacy.
1.We never sell your family's information
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Kidnett makes money from school subscriptions, never from your data.
2.Your child's data never trains AI
Every AI feature we ship runs with a contractual no-training flag. Your child's photos, notes and records are never used to train any model, ours or anyone else's.
3.Everything lives in the EU
Your school's data is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany, disclosed to you as POPIA requires (section 72), under GDPR-grade infrastructure protections.
4.Photos are deleted on schedule
Class photos are removed after your school's retention window (18 months by default), and 'deleted' means the actual files, not just the links. Your own child's photos are always yours to download first, free.
5.Consent is real consent
Nothing is pre-ticked. Photo sharing, medical details and marketing are separate, deliberate choices, and each one can be withdrawn later. Withdrawing photo consent deletes the photos immediately.
6.You can take everything with you
A parent can request a complete export of their family's records, details, consents, messages, documents, statements, and download every photo of their child at any time, at no charge.
7.Leaving means gone
When a family asks for erasure, we delete the records AND the underlying files, an hourly job sweeps storage so nothing lingers on a disk somewhere. Financial records are kept only as long as South African law requires (about 5 years), then they can go too.
8.Only the right eyes see anything
A teacher sees only their class. A parent sees only their own children. The office sees its school and nothing beyond it. These walls are enforced inside the database itself and tested on every single change we ship.
9.A real person is accountable
Kidnett's Information Officer is Inus de Bruin. Questions, corrections or complaints about your information reach a human who is legally responsible for the answer.
